On Saturday, Cheadle High Street was shut down for several hours to enable Staffordshire Fire and Rescue to manage and resolve an incident on Cross Street. A local man fell into an abandoned well located behind the dry cleaners on Cross Street. The High Street was closed to accommodate the four emergency units required for his rescue.
