Teddy Bear Takeover at St Giles

On Saturday, 21st September the teddy bears didn't go down to the woods today, but visited St Giles the Abbot Church instead. Taking part in a series of vignettes. Daddy Bear, Mummy Bear and Baby bringing naughty Goldilocks with them, posed outside their woodland cottage. Rupert and his chums enjoyed a winter snowball fight. Andy Pandy, Looby Loo and Teddy brought along their famous picnic basket. Also joining in the fun was a bear named after a famous railway station* with his aunt, Lucy, and a bear who is rather too fond of honey**.

Refreshments were served to the human visitors, including the bear approved cakes and sausage rolls. There was bear story telling, gingerbread bear decorating as well as clay craft and papercrafts. The day finished at 4pm when the tired teddy bears needed to return home. Just as well really as the rain storm which followed was no picnic for anyone. Luckily most humans managed to leave before then.

This was a fundraising event for St Giles the Abbot Church. You can find out more about this important work in our post "Saving Time".
