Cheadle Flower Club Prepares for Spring

Updated: Mar 2

Cheadle Flower Club members and friends met at the Oakley Room, Cheadle Guild Hall for their February meeting. Chairman Sheila welcomed everyone to a spring workshop which was very well attended.

Cheadle Flower Club Prepares for Spring

For the first arrangement Sheila provided everyone with a clear plastic storage box, which we tightly wrapped with either coloured wool or twine around the box to hold the flowers and foliage in place. This is to replace the use of oasis and is therefore more environmentally friendly. Members arranged their flowers in the wool frame creating beautiful unique arrangements.

The next arrangement used a china teacup and saucer members had bought from home. Sheila demonstrated a lovely spring design using moss placed in the teacup and a small amount of flowers, Easter chicks, eggs and other spring embellishments. Members thoroughly enjoyed creating this beautiful and simple arrangement with each one showing individual designs.

Everyone present had thoroughly enjoyed the evening and relaxed atmosphere that Sheila created.  The vote of thanks was given by Pat who presented Sheila with a gift from all members thanking her for all the hard work and dedication she gives to the Club.

The next meeting is Wednesday 19th March, 7.30 pm at The Oakley Room, Guild Hall, Cheadle, and there will be a demonstration by florist Laura J Blood. This will be a lovely evening to just sit back, relax and enjoy.
