This week, Staffordshire PCSO Jonathon Staples reminded us about an important app.
What3words is a location system that assigns every 3m x 3m square in the world a unique combination of three words and is widely used in the UK for navigation, deliveries, and emergency services.

This is a free app that allows you to pinpoint your exact location using a unique three word code. You can then use this code when you call in an emergency to help services find exactly where you are this information can be vital to help patient recovery and even save lives.
How it Works
what3words divides the world into a grid of 3 metre by 3 metre squares, giving each square a unique three-word address. This allows anyone to pinpoint a precise location more easily than using traditional street addresses or GPS coordinates. For example, a park bench, a remote field, or a specific entrance to a building can each have its own three-word code.
