Here are some important reminders to help protect pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers in our community:
For Drivers
Stick to the speed limits – especially near schools and residential streets.
Never use your phone while driving.
Always check mirrors and blind spots for cyclists and motorbikes.
Park considerately, leaving pavements clear for prams, wheelchairs, and mobility scooters.
For Pedestrians
Use designated crossings whenever possible.
Stay visible at night – wear reflective clothing or carry a torch.
Teach children the Green Cross Code: Stop, Look, Listen, Think.
For Cyclists
Wear a helmet and reflective gear.
Use lights at night – it’s a legal requirement.
Ride in a straight line and signal clearly when turning.
General Advice
Slow down around schools, playgrounds, and busy pedestrian areas.
Be patient – a few extra seconds can prevent serious accidents.
Report dangerous driving to the police via 101 (non-emergency) or 999 if it’s urgent.
Together we can make our roads safer for everyone. Let’s look out for one another and keep our community accident-free.
