Weekend Highlight: Ipstones Agricultural Show

Saturday, August 30th, was a significant date for many of our rural residents, as it marked the day of the Ipstones Annual Agricultural Show. Due to last year's impressive attendance, an additional field was opened for parking.

The animals are always the main attraction at this agricultural show, with exceptional standards seen in everything from pygmy goats to well-cared-for shire horses and bulls. The show featured typical rural attractions, including items for purchase, food options, and lively music from a fairground organ. Although the weather threatened to dampen the event, the rain held off until late afternoon.

It was fascinating to observe the Churnet Valley farmers group, who are committed to wildlife protection and practice organic farming with minimal or no chemicals.

Overall, it was an exciting and entertaining day out.
