Leek Show: A Celebration of Country Life

This year's Leek Show on Saturday, 25th July 2026, saw several thousand visitors to the Dunn Wood estate in Longnor. Temporary traffic lights were set up to help keep the queuing to a minimum. It was a beautiful sunny day as residents and visitors to the area gathered to see and take part in this traditional agricultural show.
There was lots to see and do; it was well organised with many volunteers, each doing their part to make the show a success. We met with Show Secretary Suzanne Sheldon, who not only had time for us but also ran the craft and exhibition marquees superbly.
There’s a real deference here and a respect for the organization and traditions. We were able to witness not only some of the most beautiful flowers and produce that you’ll ever see, but also traditional and modern crafts, spectacular examples of our local farm animals, and even demonstrations of farriery. Many local charities and companies were present, along with many who specifically support the farming industry, veterinary surgeons, agricultural equipment, et cetera.
There was plenty for youngsters to do too with many junior competitions to engage and support the farmers of tomorrow. There was a small traditional fairground, climbing wall and lots of opportunities for everyone to meet up with friends, showcase their work and handicrafts, connect with suppliers and other experts.
