A Party in the Park to Remember

On Sunday 9th of August Cheadle residents turned out to enjoy the free event, organised by the the Town Council every year - Party in the park at Tean Road Recreation Ground This year's events included arial performers, the ever popular dog show, community stalls and live music.

First Citizens of Cheadle, Phil & Zenobia Routledge had another very busy Sunday - not only hosting and helping with their own event -Party in the Park, but also visiting a nearby Fishing Open Day too.

Mayor Philip Routledge said it was a fantastic day - everyone seemed to enjoy it. There was a great atmosphere, and business and community group stalls really worked well together, highlighting the amazing things which happen in Cheadle. A visitor from Mow Cop told me that they had had a lovely day and what a lovely community and special place Cheadle is!

The Waggiest Winner

Pictured are Jane and PJ with Trio their dog who won the first prize for waggiest tail in the ever popular dog show. "We’re born n bred Cheadle and support as much as possible in Cheadle." said the happy winners.

Margaret's Jam

Wonderful home made jams by Margaret Plant. Margaret’s been making jams since living at home with her mum. They had a farm at Draycott, we had a big garden filled with fruits in summer. “Mum made a lot of jam and it kept us going over the winter. She taught me how to make it and I still do. My favourite is blackberry.

Alpacas in the Park

Cheadle & District Allotments

The community-minded group hosted a bottle stall—always popular with visitors. This strong community of growers makes a colorful addition to many local events, spending time away from their much-loved allotments and into the community..

Meet Glow - Mayoral Charity of the Year

Each year the incoming Mayor of Cheadle selects one or two charities for fundraising focus. At this year's Party in the Park, Glow, a Staffordshire-based domestic violence charity, hosted their own stall. They offer advice on leaving a relationship or starting your recovery journey. Staffordshire Wildlife Trust

The trust brought along their colourful stand offering a wealth of information to visitors about local wildlife. A regular contributor to COGNEWS, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is a member organisation, and visitors had the opportunity to join the charity and make a contribution to their vital work across the region.

RBB Vets - A local Community Surgery
