Local authorities are strapped for cash, - could a Midlands Green Bond transform how local authorities here fund sustainable development and decarbonisation? 11 Councils across the UK have found success with this so far helping fund major projects which may not otherwise have been possible, whilst allowing local people to invest in the future of their green economy. One council, Westminster, raised one million pounds in 9 days and whilst that is not typical it does show both the possibility for success and an appetite by local people for change.
