During the episode, presenter Fiona Bruce visits the V&A Wedgwood Collection, located at World of Wedgwood, to explore more than 175,000 artworks and ceramics held in the archives. During her visit, Fiona discovers how Josiah Wedgwood became “Potter to Her Majesty” after designing a creamware set for Queen Charlotte, and she is shown two iconic examples of Wedgwood craftsmanship: the Portland Vase, which took four years to perfect, and a pair of historic jasperware shoe heels. Both items are on display in the V&A Wedgwood Collection galleries.

Also in the episode, the Antiques Roadshow team challenges Fiona to an odd-one-out game with Asian art specialist Alexandra Aguilar, filmed in the World of Wedgwood courtyard.

Chief Curator of the V&A Wedgwood Collection, Catrin Jones, said:

“We were delighted to welcome Antiques Roadshow to the V&A Wedgwood Collection. Our Archivist Lucy Lead showed Fiona some ceramic highlights to mark 250 years of Wedgwood's iconic jasperware. From the Portland Vase to a playful pink jasperware telephone, you can see these extraordinary objects and discover their stories in our galleries today.”

"Fiona’s visit forms part of a wider celebration of Stoke-on-Trent’s ceramic heritage, marking 100 years since the city was granted official status. World of Wedgwood is proud to have hosted the Antiques Roadshow episode to shine a light on the ceramics industry and Stoke-on-Trent’s rich history."

The 58-minute episode will air on BBC One.
