People in Staffordshire can grab a household bargain or Christmas gift and support a community group or charity at the same time at a series of pop-up sales events run by the county council.
At all of Staffordshire’s household waste recycling centres, good quality reusable items are donated to county charities, care leavers who are setting up a new home or sold at one of the regular Rescue Me pop-up sales.

People can pick up a wide variety of bargains of items including kitchenware, toys, books, sports equipment and more. All money raised goes directly to a local charity or community organisation in the area the pop-up sale takes place.
The sales are held by the county council’s waste management team, which also supports Repair Café events in Staffordshire where people can bring their own items to be repaired and socialise with other attendees and repairers.

Andrew Mynors, Staffordshire County Council’s cabinet member for connectivity who oversees waste management, said: "As we approach Christmas, I’d encourage people to come along to one of our Rescue Me pop-up events. They’re a great place for people to pick up a bargain or gift and support the invaluable work of one of our community organisations or charities. Many of the items brought to our household waste recycling centres are of good quality and can be put to good use. Anyone attending one of the sales events can save money, reduce waste and help others."
