As the temperature begins to drop and December approaches, it’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas across Staffordshire. The recent light switch-ons across our town and villages have been a great way to start to festive season.

There’s plenty more to look forward to throughout December. The Staffordshire History Centre has a busy programme of festive activities, from Christmas craft sessions to historical walks and talks. Since opening last year, the centre has welcomed more than 16,000 visitors, so if you haven’t been yet, the run-up to Christmas is a perfect time.
Winter is also a brilliant season to enjoy the outdoors, and our countryside rangers are leading guided birdwatching walks on Cannock Chase. The colder months bring some beautiful species to the area, and these peaceful walks are a great way to learn more about the wildlife that makes the Chase so special. Afterwards, you can warm up with a hot drink at the Marquis Drive Visitor Centre, where staff are always happy to chat about what you’ve seen and what else to look out for.
There is so much happening across Staffordshire this December, and I hope you’re able to enjoy some of the events and activities on offer. Stay warm, stay safe, and have a great start to the festive season.
