Spring walk and cream tea at The Wolseley Centre
Saturday 15 March, 1pm - 3pm
Enjoy a gentle stroll and spot the signs of spring all around. You'll receive helpful identification tips as you explore. Binoculars and ID guides provided.
Delicious cream tea at The Kingfisher Café included in the price.
Forest School and Sustainability Conference at The Wolseley Centre
Thursday 19 March, 9am - 4pm £225pp
One to share with the teachers in your life! SWT are hosting a day with a focus on inclusion, connection to nature and the power of the outdoors.
The guest speakers will be covering neurodiversity within the Forest School setting, site development on a shoestring and therapeutic Forest School. Workshops will including whittling, habitat creation, natural art and large structures.
There will also be a host of stands for you to browse, including Bumble Bee Friendly Schools, Field Council, Staffordshire Invertebrate Group, Cosy Outdoor Play and Forest School First Aid.

Stoke-on-Trent Canal Clean up and Coppice
Monday 24 February, 10.30am - 12.30pm
Meet at Civic Centre, Glebe Street, ST4 1HG
Help look after canal heritage by joining a litter pick and coppicing hazel sticks for Border Morris Dancing! The event begins on the canal at Wharf Place, taking a right to head south in the direction of City Road. All tools and equipment will be provided.
This session is part of Trent Valley Past & Present, a two-year cultural heritage project. Spaces are free but booking is required.

What lives in your local river and nearby? Thanks to SWT partners the Environment Agency, Support Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent City Council, these events are FREE as part of the Trent ReNEW project. No prior experience needed.
March River Monitoring Walk, University of Staffordshire Nature Reserve, Wednesday 4 March, 10am–12pm. A river monitoring walk at The Catalyst Building, sampling and counting freshwater creatures to check river health. Book a spot
Riverfly Monitoring, Ford Green Brook North, Monday 9 March, 10am–1.30pm. Head to Sylvester Community Trust Growing Field to count and record freshwater invertebrates in Ford Green Brook. Book a spot
Riverfly Monitoring, Ford Green Brook South, Wednesday 11 March, 10am–1.30pm. Meet by Ford Green Hall for river fly sampling and find out what freshwater life is in the brook. Book a spot
Small Mammal Monitoring Walk, Whitfield Valley Nature Reserve, Thursday 12 March, 10am–12pm. Take a gentle walk with Derek Crawley from Staffordshire Mammal Group to spot signs of small mammals along the brook. Book a spot
Bird Walk at Biddulph Grange Country Park
Tuesday 24 March, 10am - 12pm
Come along to learn bird identification skills as you explore this beautiful place. Borrow a pair of binoculars or bring your own. This event is provided for free for Staffordshire Moorlands residents as part of the Nature in Your Neighbourhood project, thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund.

An illustrated talk by Kevin Reynolds looking at how our historical relationship evolved with the wild birds we now call 'garden birds.' How did we go from persecuting, killing, and eating them to caring about them and encouraging them to live and breed around us.
