Staffordshire Moorlands District Council is running a new satisfaction survey to seek the views of residents and understand how they feel the Council is performing.

The last residents’ survey was carried out two years ago. This one comes as the Council and Staffordshire’s other councils are deep in responding to the Government’s plans for local government reorganisation due to be implemented from April 2028. Final reorganisation proposals have to be submitted by 28 November.

There are some important questions included about the future of local government including the opportunity for residents to select from three options for new council areas that all involve Staffordshire Moorlands.

There are also questions covering community safety, local decision making, value for money, and other public services.

Leader of the Council, Councillor Mike Gledhill said: "We aim to provide good quality services every day of the week that our residents value and appreciate. Obviously, we get informal feedback on a regular basis, but a survey of this type is invaluable for formally understanding where things are working well and perhaps where there is room for improvement.

"By completing this survey residents can also tell us what their priorities are for their local area. We'll then use this information to improve the services we provide. All responses given will be looked at, so please do take a few moments to participate.

"You can complete the survey either on your own device or by using the devices available at Council receptions to complete it online. Paper copies are also available.

"The more people that fill it in, the better targeted our services will be to meet local needs and priorities so please spend a few minutes to share your views with us.”

You can find out more, and complete the survey, on our website. Collection boxes for completed paper surveys are being provided at Biddulph Town Hall, Cheadle Library and at Moorlands House in Leek.

The deadline for all responses is Sunday 12 October.
