New Training Events for Businesses Announced

Staffordshire Business & Environment Network (sben), a Staffordshire membership organisation, entitling members to subsidised and free initiatives. The Network helps raise business awareness through seminars and enhance skills and knowledge through environmental training and counselling. It also provides practical advice on developing and implementing environmental policies as well as promoting examples of good environmental practice.


Here is a list of their latest training and events for your consideration, Membership is currently free, and many services/events are free to members.


New Training Events for Businesses Announced

Carbon Literacy Training

 

This event is for businesses whose representative have previously attended Carbon Literacy training and are interested in understanding more about what a Carbon Literate Organisation is and how to become a CLO.  It can also be beneficial for businesses new to Carbon Literacy training.

 

NEW E-Learning Carbon Literacy Training Course 26th March 2025, 09.30am - 12.30pm

Stretched for time but would like to learn all about Carbon Literacy, then try our new E-Learning course.

 

Staffordshire County Council – Green Solutions – Carbon Literacy Training – 29th & 30th April 2025 - Staffordshire Business & Environment Network on MS Teams

Session 1 - Learn about The Science, Psychology and Impacts of Climate Change  

Session 2 - Carbon Hotspots, Solutions and Action Planning

Inform, convince and inspire your audience by presenting data effectively 27th February 2025, 09:00am - 5:00pm at Entrust Education The Riverway Centre, Riverway, Stafford ST16 3TH

Do you need to help others to understand your data? Do you need to use it to convince, or even inspire, them to do something?

If so, then join this Presenting Data Effectively workshop and learn about effective communication and presentation skills with Mike Grocott from Intercog.

 

sben Environmental Legislation Event – 5th March 2025 from am until 12:30pm at The Moat House Hotel, Lower Penkridge Road, Acton Trussell, Stafford, ST17 0RJ

Amanda Chappell of ESP Ltd will guide us through changes that took place in environmental legislation during 2024, the new Labour Government and environmental law, and give an overview of what’s new and what’s on the horizon.

If there is a piece of legislation that you would like to include, please let us know in advance and ESP will endeavour to accommodate this.

 

Make Change Happen Workshop for SBEN Members – 13th March 2025 09:30am - 4:30pm at Entrust Education The Riverway Centre, Riverway, Stafford ST16 3TH

Balancing commercial priorities with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals can be challenging. If you’re part of a purpose-led team, or a leader in an organisation striving to make a difference, this interactive workshop is designed to help you navigate change effectively and bring others on board with your mission.  Pete Starr of wayvie will be delivering this workshop.

 

sben Waste Workshop with Kay Buck of Staffordshire Waste Partnership 30th April 2025, 12:00noon - 1:00pm on MS Teams

Kay Buck of Staffordshire Waste Partnership will provide information on the upcoming changes to waste legislation that will be affecting all businesses. On behalf of the councils in Staffordshire, Kay will be covering recycling and food waste regulation from March this year, and how your local authorities can assist to help you meet the new requirements.

Tim Frost Waste Technical Specialist – Hazardous Waste from the Environment Agency and Amanda Chappell PCQI Integrated Management Systems Consultant from ESP Ltd will also be on hand to answer any questions.
