The funding seeks to help the community contribute to delivering healthy, safe and inclusive communities and thriving communities – two of the key themes of the Government’s shared prosperity agenda.

Council Leader and Chair of the Board that oversees the distribution of the funding, Councillor Mike Gledhill, said: “We want the Moorlands to be known as a place where the community thrives and somewhere that people want to come and live, work and visit.

“The grants that we are now making available follow on from the success of the previous grant schemes that we’ve delivered and have been designed to help tackle issues at a very local level. We’re looking forward to receiving applications and to ensuring we’re distributing this funding to those best placed to spend it on making a difference.”

Community organisations, including town and parish councils, can now apply for:

The closing date for applications for both of the grants is 15 June 2025 for projects that can be delivered between July this year and the end of January 2026.

If there is any funding still available after this round of applications has been processed, a second round of applications will be invited later in the summer.
