A fashion exhibition has gone on display in Dougie Mac’s Stoke shop, following an exciting collaboration
between University of Staffordshire and the local hospice. The sustainable fashion collection, titled “Re-Imagine” is full of unique and individual pieces, created by students from the University’s BA (Hons) Fashion course, who transformed pre-loved clothes items into new, eye-catching outfits.

Having originally been on display within the University of Staffordshire’s UniCube Gallery, the collection will now tour Dougie Mac’s shops, starting in the Stoke shop, for shoppers and the public to enjoy. Liz Clarke, Head of Retail at Dougie Mac, said, “We’re really excited that the collection is now on display in our Stoke shop and we hope that anyone visiting the shop, as well as passers-by, will stop to look at the fantastic creations. The roadshow will continue to move around over shops over the spring / summer, so look out for it across our shop network."
“All of the outfits were created from pre-loved items donated to our shops. The students used their creativity and imagination to transform them into completely new looks, demonstrating what can be done with pre-loved clothes and accessories."
“Our shops are full of great quality, pre-loved items all generously donated by our local supporters. By re- selling or recycling them we’re not only preventing from going into landfill by, but also raising vital funds to help us continue our care and support services for local people.”

The fashion exhibition will be on display in Dougie Mac’s Stoke shop until 12th May when it will move to the charity’s Newcastle shop. As part of the collaboration, four winning Fashion students will spend two weeks on a placement with Dougie Mac learning about the key ingredients to charity shopping and helping to support various marketing and merchandising initiatives for the future.
COGNEWS spoke with Dougie Mac's communications officer, Jayne Dono, who confirmed that the exhibition will be coming to Cheadle. We'll let you know as soon as we hear more.
