AKA Origin Story

My builder consistently left his young, clearly underqualified, but lovely assistant to do all but pick up the cheque, despite many promises to the contrary. He was a friend of the family and I trusted him. I shouldn't have.

My very able electrical contractor had to isolate again and again due to Covid-19 delaying the work.

I stood on the carpark of a closed Ikea store and selected kitchen units from two masked team members because they couldn't get the one I'd ordered and paid for.

I saw the price of the new gates I purchased increase by 60 per cent overnight.

None of these things prevented me from finishing my kitchen remodel or my new drive but they did cause many headaches.

I've done lots of DIY projects over the years, including an entire refurb/large extension whilst 8 months pregnant and running my business from home. I was generally more involved in the clean-up, labour and design than the actual build, but post pandemic this had to change. I stepped up my game, did some courses and bought a few extra tools. This site exists because I know that we are stronger together, learning from and working with one another to create a blissful home and work life.

More recently I've turned my hand to a different sort of building - this Find Bliss community. There are many things here designed only to bring us all a more blissful existence.
