This will help you create a simple system for all kinds of things in your business

Firstly we researched what the latest guidelines on data collection were. We check this regularly on our .gov website to make sure we are doing the right things.

Then we considered the types of visitors to our business. Were they from companies, were they coming on their own or with colleagues or family? Then we planned our form. We made it logical, we made it as simple as we could, but we made it to collect everything we needed.

Then we created the form using the Acend toolbox built into Wix and created a brand new page to host the form. We tested that the form worked properly. Here it is:

Then we created the QR code, we strongly recommend that you don't use a creation service that is time limited because after so long your code won't work. We used Adobe InDesign but you could use CorelDraw too.

We then designed a info sheet to be displayed in our premises, we checked the code worked on screen with an iPhone, and tested the form again.

All we had to do then was print the form and add it to our frame and yes one more test.

If you're thinking that sounds like a right faf - why not just write the data in the book? Here's why not.

Firstly it looks more professional to have the code and your guests will like the fact that they don't have to touch anything. It can be completed quickly and privately from their own phone. Secondly writing this information takes time and that's essentially downtime for your team member, who doesn't need to be involved in this. Thirdly, what happens when the Joneses are using the book and the Jacksons are waiting for it, not the best visitor experience is it? And finally what if disaster strikes and the book goes missing or you can't read the visitors writing and you need to contact them? That can't happen with the digital form. You could also be a little cheeky and ask for marketing consent. Then you can thoughtfully send them marketing in the future.

If you'd like a digital booking form for your visitors and you don't think you can do it yourself. Just ask, an hour of studio time with us will benefit your company through the pandemic and beyond.

We thought you might like to see a pic of finished sign and even though the image quality isn't great here the code still work from the photo - check it out!
