For over 4 years now residents of Ness Grove, Donkey Lane and Froghall Rd have fought to get justice following poor building practices at a Cheadle building site just off the Froghall Road. This has had lasting effects on their lives and happiness in their community. Persimmon plc is a British housebuilding company, headquartered in York, England. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index.
It was at Monday's Town Council meeting (4th October) that the amendments were discussed ref SMD/2021/0456 remedial planning proposal from the developer. The meeting saw residents and Councillor discuss these difficult issues. The Town Council agreed that the proposed amendments be rejected on technical grounds.

The pack delivered by the developer had missing and outdated drawings, and little safeguarding that works will be carried out professionally. It is hoped that the case officers at Staffordshire Moorlands District Council will be able to address these problems with the developer directly, the site will be able to be made safe and residents' concerns finally addressed.
We have been informed that future housing development plans will be inspected by one of our two Cheadle residents who are also civil engineers. This is something that should not be necessary at Town Council level but something that the Town Council feel is important to prevent issues like this appearing again causing devastating consequences for our residents and jeopardising the successful building of any future new homes.
