Summer holidays are in full swing and there are tonnes of events across Staffordshire to help you make the most of the extra time. Join in the fun this summer, connect to wildlife and experience the great outdoors with Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.

If you’re a member, we’ve organised some super seasonal Member Exclusive events. These are a little thank you to those of you who regularly donate to the cause.
If you fancy a whole day of play and fun this August? Tickets for Playday at The Wolseley Centre are selling fast! This year’s Playday is on Wednesday the 6 of August. Grab your tickets now as once they’re gone, they’re gone!
Adult Events

The Wolseley Centre VIP event and dinner
History and Nature of The Wolseley Centre, Tuesday 12 August, 4.30 - 7.30pm From a grand country home to crumbling ruins... Now an amazing Visitor Centre and Nature Reserve! Discover the roots of The Wolseley Centre and enjoy a delicious cooked meal in the Kingfisher Café (included within the ticket price).
Booking essential. Tickets are £30 per person + small booking fee.
Bioblitz at The Roaches
10am - 12pm and 1 - 3pm on Friday 25 July
Join us to find nature at this stunning spot… We need your help to record as much wildlife as we can! Drop in to bug hunt, bird watch, or examine plants and trees. A Bioblitz is an event focused on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time.
Suitable for all ages (under 18s must be supervised by parent/guardian).
FREE. It is recommended that you book in advance but you can also drop in.
Bioblitz at Doxey Marshes, Stafford
Feel free to drop in between 11am and 1.30 to meet the Site Ranger, you can stay the whole session or just stay as long as you want. Meet our ranger at the Bioblitz station, chat about the reserve, the wildlife, grab a sweep net and a bug pot and see what you can find!
Suitable for all ages (under 18s must be supervised by parent/guardian).
FREE to attend. No need to book - drop in any time between 11am and 1.30pm.
Bioblitz at Gentleshaw Common
Come and help our ranger collect some amazing nature records during this mini bioblitz. We will be walking around the site with sweep nets, identification charts, and bug pots! Come along to learn about the importance of citizen science, lowland heathland and how to look after our amazing wildlife! You never know what you might find.
Suitable for all ages (under 18s must be supervised by parent/guardian).
FREE but booking for this event is required. Arrive for 10am to get started but leave whenever you like, or stay until the end.
Bioblitz at Highgate Common
Drop in to bug hunt, bird watch or examine plants and trees. The data you collect will help Staffordshire’s Ecological Records Service protect wildlife for future generations. You can also join in the Wildfamilies activities on offer - tree bingo and clay creature modelling.
Suitable for all ages (under 18s must be supervised by parent/guardian).
FREE. Booking is advised, but please feel free to drop in as well... The more the merrier!
August River Monitoring in Stoke-on-Trent
Join us for a gentle stroll introducing people to ways of recording wildlife, birds, and plants along the riverside. Please do dress for the weather and wear footwear suitable for muddy and uneven paths. Free, but booking essential.

Nature Tots Summer Party
Monday 4 August, 10.30am - 12pm, It’s time to celebrate the summer! Join us for a fun sessions which will include smelly cocktails and nature crown party hats!
Drop in grass sledging
Looking for a fun-filled activity that will bring smiles to everyone's faces? Look no further than grass sledging! No need to book, just come along and join us for some outdoor fun! Sessions run between 10am and 1pm - last tickets will be sold at 12.30pm.
Get Wild with our Space sessions!
Drop the kids off for an outdoor adventure with us! Suitable for children aged 8-16 years – they could be climbing trees, building dens, and generally getting a bit mucky outside!

These events are free thanks to funding received from the SCO and SPACE is driven by the Staffordshire Commissioner. Children are only able to attend SPACE activities that take place within the local authority area in which they live. Booking essential.
