Business & Economics at Painsley Catholic College

Business & Economics at Painsley Catholic College

On Thursday 23rd January we were very happy to welcome back two if our fabulous business alumni – Ed Tankard and Oliver Nairn. They shared their experiences of pursuing a Project

Management Higher Apprenticeship at Rolls Royce.

Their talk provided valuable insights into the benefits of apprenticeships, including earning while learning. As well as talking students through the application and selection process and what their working day entails as well as possible progression opportunities.

We also had the pleasure of welcoming Mr Ormond from the S&P 500 listed company Stryker, who delivered an engaging and inspiring session about the challenges in bringing new products to market and how the various functions of business work and communicate with one another. They looked at marketing strategies, financial obstacles and the science behind innovation.

The Y12 and Y13 business and economics are also currently enjoying an exciting and enriching

opportunity in London. They have travelled down by train to visit the houses of parliament, a Q&A session with Karen Bradley, a river cruise, The Bank of England Museum and a tour of Wembley stadium.
