Staffordshire Moorlands is proud to be home to over 3,000 armed forces veterans and, to support their wellbeing, the District Council is hosting a special event in Biddulph.

Representatives from organisations offering veterans and their families help with housing, benefits, employment and training, health and wellbeing and community support services will all be at
The event is a valuable opportunity to connect with those who have served and help with address any issues they may be facing.
Cabinet Member for Communities and the Council’s Armed Forces Champion, Councillor Bill Cawley, said: “Since becoming Communities Portfolio holder I have taken a very strong interest in the veterans’ covenant. Many family members have served in the armed forces whose wellbeing was impacted by service.
“All our veterans have served with pride and selflessness, and we want to show our thanks for their service by providing the support and help they and their families deserve once their service comes to an end.
“This event in Biddulph will bring together, in one place, representatives from a range of organisations that can offer that support and guidance to make it easier for people to access the help they may need.
“So, if you’re a veteran yourself, or you know someone who is, we encourage you to come and join us and see what’s on offer. We look forward to seeing you there.”
The Council re-affirmed its commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant in 2023 and is a member of the Staffordshire Armed Forces Covenant Partnership which brings together key partners to work with, help, and practically support current and former service personnel.
