Inspector Karen Cooke, of the Staffordshire Moorlands local policing team, said: “A number of local officers are carrying out enquiries as part of our ongoing efforts to investigate these reports and to take action against anyone found to be responsible.

“Vehicle owners should remain vigilant and consider their vehicle’s security to mitigate the chances of them falling victim to such offences.

“Make sure to lock your vehicle and ensure all windows and sunroofs are closed.

“Where possible, lock your car in a secure garage or make sure it is parked in direct view of CCTV cameras.

“Keep any valuable out of sight and don’t leave them in your vehicles overnight.”
