Moorlands Climate Action run a number of local projects and events including clothes swaps, Repair Cafe, litter picks, Wild Week in schools, market stalls and and annual HuG Green Arts Day. These are all great opportunities to find out how you can be more green - how we can all make the small changes in our life, that added together will make big differences. There are some key things people can also do in their everyday lives and that is what Take the Jump is all about.
Take the Jump is an international movement that everyone can take part in, by trying six behaviour shifts. It's a movement for real societal transformation, backed up with masses of resources developed by groups like MCA including posters, games, presentations etc.
These are the 6 behaviour shifts you can consider:
Eat Green
Travel Fresh
Dress Retro
End Clutter
Holiday Local
Change the System
Why Change?
Our society is hooked on stuff, and it’s destroying our planet, often without even making our lives better. The goal is a world of less stuff and more joy, where humanity is in balance with nature—through helping achieve a two-thirds reduction in the impact of consumption in rich countries by the early 2030s. Citizens can actually have a huge role in making it happen, and Take the Jump is a practical way to be a part of the change.
