Support Staffordshire is leading a new initiative across Staffordshire, starting with the Staffordshire Moorlands as the first participating area. Called Local Help My Way, the initiative will connect people who need extra help to live independently and their families with people who work or are interested in working within the caring sector.
This includes people who provide general support, which, with a little tweaking or compliance support, could transform the lives of many local people. For example, Mrs. Jones loves to see her garden but can no longer mow the lawn. Simon, a local landscaper, is able to help. This initiative would help Simon and Mrs. Jones work together, benefiting Simon's micro business and Mrs. Jones's quality of life.
If you're curious about how this might work for you, there are a series of events taking place in the coming weeks. Details so far:

Wellspring community drop-in on the 1st & 10th October
Waterhouse’s on Thursday, 2nd October
Bolton Gate Autumn Fair on Saturday 10th October
Leek Butter market in Leek on 15th October
Kingsley Holt drop-in on 16th October
