Holly & Lauren spoke with us about their new venture for Cheadle High Street, which opened its doors for the first time at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, the 24th of October, with quite a few people coming in as the doors opened.
Holly told us that everything has been built from scratch. This isn't their first shop; they have another in Lancaster, but have been looking for years for something in Cheadle.
They stock a wide variety of memorabilia, trading cards, dice, gaming accessories, and anime. They select the stock based on what they like and have something for all ages. There's Japanese imported plushies, Dungeons & Dragons, RPG books, a broad range of anime figurines, and merchandise.
Opening hours will be Wednesday to Sunday: 11-5 Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, 10-5:30 Saturday, and 11-4 on Sunday.
They are hoping in the future to open a first-floor play space, but needed to get the shop open first.

Cheadle Mayor Phil Routledge had this to say about the new store:
I noticed the new gaming shop opening in town. I'm a former D & D player myself for many years and have had many good nights. Going across the country, I've been to London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, lots of good nights out enjoying D & D, Lord of the Rings, The Call of Cthulhu by H. P. Lovecraft. I hope the kids really enjoy it and come and have a look. It was a fantastic time in my life. It's something that suits all ages; it can be a reasonably cheap night in too, with family and friends having a good night together. You have to create the characters around what you're doing, problem-solving and logic. Sometimes you realize in later life that you can do something because of something you learned playing D & D. It's really good for your cognitive thinking and skill building.
Phil said, "Go and have a look at the new store, try things out, life is full of new experiences, find out what you enjoy and go and do it!"
