Last night, Monday 2nd of June, Cheadle Town Council voted in two new councillors, Dan Faulkner and Jase Jervis. Both new councillors are local business people who've lived in Cheadle all their lives, keen to lend their support to our town. New Mayor, District and Town Councillor Kate Mills, welcomed them both to office.

It has not yet been announced which Cheadle wards the two councillors will represent, and they will no doubt choose to join council committees in due course. Choices include Development Services (Planning), Leisure & Operations, Finance, Business Tourism & Environment (BTEC), and a number of other working groups, sub-committees, and ways to represent the town to the wider world.
Mayor Mills also informed the council about some of her planned activities in the coming months which included Deputy Mayor, Councillor Ian Plant and herself, representing the town at district wide events and local celebrations. One activity includes going out with the Moorlands Home Link bus to support local residents with a hot meal or travel to the day centre. Moorlands Home Link recently lost a large chunk of funding, vital to their work so if you can support them financially please do. (01538 750511)
Did you know? Town councillors are not paid employees; they, like many other local residents, are volunteers doing an important role for our town. This can often be complex and challenging, but one which is needed and worthwhile too!
