A pedestrian crossing is set to be established on the A522 New Road near the new Co-Op store in Tean. This development is part of Staffordshire County Council's effort to enhance safety and accessibility for cyclists and pedestrians in the Moorlands.

A recent post stated, "An important part of our highways work is promoting and encouraging more active travel, which includes things like cycling and walking. Cycling and walking are great activities and have huge benefits not only for people’s health and fitness but also for the environment, and our priority is to make them easier and safer to do.
These projects could include the installation of cycle lanes and footpaths or upgrading existing ones, more pedestrian crossings, or adjustments to road layouts.
