Every year when Cheadle celebrates the Christmas Lights Switch On, with music, market and merriment, there is a second less noticed event. Our lovely Christmas tree outside Lulworth House on the High Street is also lit for the first time. Christmas trees are a bit like good friends, you sometimes don't notice their presence until they are missing, get a bad one and then there is uproar!
No such worry about our Christmas Tree, every year, a special tree is selected by Antony at ARB tree and our tree this year as every other since 2009, is locally grown and lovingly placed by the team. This year's tree is a 23 year old Norway Spruce and really shines out in the night sky. No one reminds Anthony and his team to provide the tree, he just does, purely to make our town an extra special place to be at Christmas Time. The tree rises majestically above the beautiful traditional nativity scene another lasting reminder of why we celebrate.
Next time you are travelling along the High Street take a look at the beautiful tree and think kindly of our generous town member who provides it.
If you are looking for a tree of your own, ARB can be found at Arbour Tree Farm, The Green, Cheadle, Staffordshire, ST10 1XS. They open on the last week of November 9 - 4 pm every day, until the last Sunday before Christmas, where you can pick your own locally grown tree and if you need it they will deliver it locally too.
We wish Anthony and his team a Very Happy Christmas and thank him for his generosity to our town.
