We have arrested a woman after stopping a stolen van and finding drugs in Cheadle.
Patrolling officers spotted the vehicle travelling down Bank Street at about 3am on Wednesday 4 September.
Once the van had stopped, officers found a small amount of drugs and discovered it was on false plates. A man got out and ran away while a woman stayed in the passenger seat.
A 42-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of taking a motor vehicle without the owners consent and being in possession of a controlled drug of Class B.
She has been released under investigation while our enquiries continue.
We are carrying out enquiries to trace the man.
