Many may not need an introduction to this film as the book ‘Wilding’ has become a best seller. However, great cinematography and a beautiful score bring this inspiring story of an ancient landscape being reborn vividly to life. Bravely abandoning their intensive farming practices, they instead created a haven in which fences were removed and animals could run free. This grand experiment has become one of the most significant rewilding experiments in Europe. Its message to allow nature to thrive is a timely one. Emmy award winning director David Allen documents a rare success story and, in the process succeeds in creating an elegant and delightful film.

CATS drama double horror
A double bill of two classic short horror stories presented in the format of radio plays.
The Monkey’s Paw is a horror short story by English author W. W. Jacobs which tells of the supernatural powers of a mummified monkey’s paw which can grant three wishes to those that possess it. But…… beware of the hellish consequences as punishment for tampering with fate!
The Signal-Man is a horror mystery story by Charles Dickens which tells the tale of a railway signalman haunted by a spectre and who receives phantom warnings of danger each of which is followed by a terrible accident.

If you are planning to visit the lantern parade and the CATS Theatre Production, the Parade finishes at the Guild Hall in time for the production. Giving a true light and dark experience.

Classic Murder Mystery evening – can you guess Whodunnit? Written and performed by U3A Drama Group. Bar open. Tickets include Pie & Pea supper. A fun Friday night awaits.

We've teamed up with Flatpack Festival and Leek Town Football Club to present COPA 71, a fascinating documentary about the 1971 Women's World Cup that's been written out of sporting history - until now. for a discussion about women's football at 6pm and film screening at 6:30pm - tickets here.

Look out for the Gingerbread Man Shop Trail, live music & reindeer. Enjoy festive food and treats whilst you shop. Kids will love the traditional rides and Santa’s Grotto, with Snow White, Tinker Bell, Spider-man and Stitch already invited, be sure to join them all on the day. Lights switch on 5pm.

Don’t miss out on our popular Halloween Trail. This is a wonderful way to get involved in the spooky season while helping to keep the community fun and safe. Decorate your home and join the trail or simply enjoy walking through the village to see all the spooky displays. The cut-off date for entries is 25th October, so be sure to enter soon. The Lantern Parade will be a fantastic finale to the Arts Festival 2024 Programme of events. The community have been busy making lanterns at our workshops to make a stunning visual display. Spark Drummers have been booked.

A stunning drama performance by Don’t Go into the Cellar described as ‘Victorian drama with bite’. The performance is Sherlock Holmes vs Dracula. After the success of the Cheadle Moon events, this is another amazing opportunity to experience the unique atmosphere of events at St Giles the Abbot. Bar for Pre-performance and Interval drinks.

An afternoon of performances including: Cheadle Community Choir, Uke3A - Ukulele bank, U3A band, and Amy Lou Dancers. Refreshments and cakes will be available to enjoy during the performances. Performers will be running 15 - 20 minute sets during the course of the afternoon. Come and stay as long as you like.

Entry: One entry per person and entry is free of charge. Please bring your photographs to the Guild Hall on 19th October between 9:30am – 11:30am and collect them between 4pm and 5pm (or leave us a SAE if you cannot collect).

Prizes will be awarded in both age categories. Prizes will be vouchers to spend in participating Cheadle retailers.
