Family events with lots of festive fun turning maths into a Christmas spectacular with a free gift to take home

Join us for the Family Halloween Party, from 6 PM until late, this event is full of spooky games, a family costume competition, and plenty of music. Tickets can be purchased in advance, and all the details are available on our Facebook page.

Judging: All photographs will be displayed and judged by the public on 19th October.

Entry: One entry per person and entry is free of charge. Please bring your photographs to the Guild Hall on 19th October between 9:30am – 11:30am and collect them between 4pm and 5pm (or leave us a SAE if you cannot collect).

Prizes will be awarded in both age categories. Prizes will be vouchers to spend in participating Cheadle retailers.

Meet the police officers, dogs, volunteers and emergency responders working hard to keep them safe each and every day across the county. Lots in store for everyone in the family to enjoy and entry is completely free.

If there’s any young aspiring police officers in the making in your family, they’ll be able to sit in a police car or on a motorbike, talk to the officers serving in their neighbourhoods and speak to the specialist teams about what they do each day to protect the public. Our brave police dogs will also be there alongside their specially-trained handlers, including demonstrations on live incident scenarios, drills from our police cadets, arena performances, children’s activities and, of course, food and drink stalls.

Parking isn’t available on site, so we have arranged a park and ride service, costing £3, that can be purchased in advance of the event for families wanting to leave their vehicles at the Staffordshire County Showground. A double-decker bus will be running all day to bring visitors to and from each site.

The Lantern Parade will be a fantastic finale to the Arts Festival 2024 Programme of events. The community have been busy making lanterns at our workshops to make a stunning visual display. Spark Drummers have been booked.

If you are planning to visit the lantern parade and the CATS Theatre Production, the Parade finishes at the Guild Hall in time for the production. Giving a true light and dark experience.

Don’t miss out on our popular Halloween Trail. This is a wonderful way to get involved in the spooky season while helping to keep the community fun and safe. Decorate your home and join the trail or simply enjoy walking through the village to see all the spooky displays. The cut-off date for entries is 25th October, so be sure to enter soon. Please submit your child’s work to Gelato & Cakes or look out for some of our children’s art sessions. The judges shortlist will be displayed on 19th October at the Showcase Day in the Guild Hall. Winners will be announced at 4pm.

Age categories: 4 and under; 5 to 7; 8 to 11

Adults – just leave the little ones to it! If you feel creative try entering the photo competition.

The first event - Special Service for Clock and Bells, followed by a Vintage Bear Exhibition, and a bring your own picnic. Please attend if you can and support this historic piece of Cheadle Life.
