Cheadle Police Station is Open but Not as We Might Expect

Local PCSOs have confirmed that Cheadle Police Station is open for policing purposes and is a place the public can attend if they have been a victim of crime, if they have reported something and expressed that they would rather have a meeting at the police station than at their own home or at the location of the crime.

It is also used by local officers in their duties. It's a busy place; they are well-staffed and well-equipped. They don't have a front desk that is open to the public 24/7. This isn't very common nowadays because crime is generally reported in different ways than it used to be, and police resources have to be deployed to reflect those changes and to keep in line with the funding available.
One example is that if you are required to produce your vehicle or license documentation, you would not be required to do this in person.
Services are available 24/7 in line with the public needs via 999, 101, or online. You can also speak to officers as you see them out and about.
There has also been a police surgery every Saturday since November between 2-4 pm (sorry, this isn't something COGNEWS was aware of), and during that time officers have only seen 2 people.
This isn't the best use of officers' time as they would see many more people from their normal activities. So they will be changing the surgeries to fortnightly beginning Saturday, 17th of January at Cheadle Police Station between 2-4 pm. Please let anyone know who you think might be interested in this.
