Appeal after pedestrian dies in hospital following collision

We are appealing for information after a man sadly died in hospital following a collision in Endon recently.

We were called at 12.30pm on Thursday (10 April) to the A53 Leek Road following reports of a collision.

A black Renault Traffic van was involved in a collision with a pedestrian.  The pedestrian, a man, was taken to hospital by ambulance. Sadly, the man, in his 90s, has since died in hospital. His next of kin are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time.

The van driver, who was not injured, remained at the scene and is assisting officers with their inquiries.

Officers are continuing to investigate what happened and are keen to speak to anyone who may have relevant dashcam, CCTV and doorbell footage of the area at the time of the collision.

Anyone with information should contact us on 101, quoting incident 287 of 10 April, or message us using Live Chat on our website.

Alternatively, email collision investigators directly via ciu@staffordshire.police.uk.
